Paint & Craft what you want!

All ages are welcome!

Let's tune out the day and create away! Join us for an Open Workshop at our beautiful westside Santa Cruz Art studio! Open Workshop allows you to create your own paintings and crafts in a DIY fashion with written lesson plans or video tutorials. This is not a step-by-step class like the other events listed on our monthly calendar. This option also allows you to bring in your own projects to work on or even to touch up projects from previous classes. Please see the options listed below!

$55 ~ Create a Resin Pour Window with video instruction

• Choose from our vast collection of glitters, glass gems, sand, shells, stones, tiles, and many other beautiful elements to add to your 8 x 10 window. Or feel free to bring your own elements to add to your window, such as sea glass, shells, special trinkets, or even the ashes of those who passed! Tune out the world and create your own bedazzled window. This craft is so very satisfying and makes a wonderful gift as well. This process is quite messy, and you will be happy that the mess stays at our studio! This option is not a step-by-step class. $55 ~ Paint Your Pet ~ Warhol Style

• This option must be pre-planned in order for us to hand-sketch your portrait for you!  Find your favorite picture of your pet and send it to us at  at least seven days before the Open Workshop. We cannot hand sketch drop-in requests. This option comes with a written lesson plan, and it is not a step-by-step class. However, a professional Art instructor will be on-site to set you up and answer any questions. For step-by-step events, please check out our Classes & Events page!

$45 ~ Create a Fluid Pour Painting with video instruction

• Choose from our rainbow of fluid paints, including metallics and fluorescents, to create your own pour paint design on an 11 x 14 stretched canvas! Other size options are available! These beauties are so satisfying to create, and they make a great gift as well! Be prepared to get addicted to this art form! You will be blown away by the swirls, cells, and designs created through this process. This process is extremely messy so be careful of your clothes and kiddos! You will definitely be happy to leave the mess at our studio! This option is not a step-by-step class. However, a professional Art instructor will be on-site to set you up and answer any questions. $35 ~ Paint one of our standard paintings ~ All Supplies and instruction included!

• Choose a painting from one of our many standard canvas classes in our Gallery. We will hand sketch the image for you, and you can work from a detailed written lesson plan. This option is not a step-by-step class. However, a professional Art instructor will be on-site to set you up and answer any questions. For step-by-step events, please check out our Classes & Events page!

$25 ~ Work on your own painting projects!

• Bring your own project and supplies, and receive professional art instruction for your painting, along with the use of our studio space for 3 hours! Please, no oils or toxic mediums.

$15 ~ Studio rental space for the day!

• Use our studio as a workspace for only $15! This fee does not include Art advice or instruction, and it is a studio space rental fee for the 3-hour time period. We have lots of room, easels, and tables for big or small pieces.

$5 ~ Work on unfinished paintings from previous classes!

• Choose this option to finish your painting from another Open Studio or painting class held at our studio! Feel free to come in and use our studio and supplies, including paint, for only $5!

The OPEN PAINT lasts from 11am-2pm. Try to get in early to get the most studio time! :) 

Our beautiful studio is located on the westside of Santa Cruz at 2100 Delaware Ave, on the corner of Delaware and Swift St! Our studio is a massive 3600 square-foot warehouse with vibrant murals, skylights, and rolling garage-style door that we are pleased to open for you on a sunny day. We have FREE parking in our abundant parking lot and free off-street parking all along Delaware! Our studio is three blocks from the beach, and one block from various coffee shops, wineries, breweries, unique stores, and eateries on Swift St. Bring your own drinks and food to enjoy while you work. We supply complimentary paper plates, cups, napkins, plastic cutlery, plastic wine glasses, bottle openers, designated food tables, and a full refrigerator and microwave for your use.

If you are interested in booking this time frame for a private painting party, don't hesitate to contact the studio at (831) 431-6544 to see if anyone has signed up for the Open Workshop.  If not, we can swap out the time slot for your instructed private party!  :)
