PAINT YOUR PET ~ Sugar Skull Style!

Join us for our SUGAR SKULL PETS painting class on the Dia De Los Muertos on November 2nd from 6:30-9:30 pm! Paint your dog, cat, horse, or any animal in a Sugar Skull fashion! This painting also makes a great gift for those who have lost a pet. 

Proceeds from this event go to SCCAS!

Simply register for this event and then send us a headshot picture of your pet, and we will hand-sketch it onto your canvas before the class! Then, our professional artist will guide you through decorating your pet with Sugar Skull embellishments, glitter, neon paint, and painted flowers! Please note ~ This class is not the Warhol Style paint your pet. We will hand sketch a very simple version of your pet with only prominent markings, allowing for embellishments, flowers, and designs!

After registering, please email us your pet picture as soon as possible to . The pet picture collection deadline is October 28th

Your ticket price includes the entire painting experience, 3 hours of professional art instruction, and all art supplies are included!

Adoptable pets will be visiting the event! There will also be complimentary munchies and drinks available! Feel free to bring your own food and beverages too! Don't miss this fantastic event!

Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter

Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter provides animal rescue, regulation, and humane care that protect the health, public safety, and welfare of people and animals in Santa Cruz County. We currently rescue and assure safe, temporary shelter, veterinary and humane care for approximately 5,000 stray, unwanted, abandoned, mistreated, neglected, and injured animals each year. Our shelter also provides a 24-hour animal rescue service and is Santa Cruz County's only full-service, open-admission animal shelter. SCCAS offers two locations for owners to find and recover their lost pets and adopt new animal companions. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is a Joint Powers Authority serving the County of Santa Cruz, the City of Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, the City of Watsonville, and the City of Capitola. A Board of directors governs SCCAS with representatives from each participating jurisdiction. Our shelters are tangible evidence of Santa Cruz County's commitment to animal welfare. They are supported by numerous volunteers and foster care families who provide thousands of hours of assistance to shelter staff at both shelter locations. We're YOUR community shelter. What is a Sugar Skull? Sugar skulls are decorative skulls made from either sugar or clay, used in the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead to decorate gravesites. The Day of the Dead is when the spirit world and the natural world dissolve, and folks can remember and live it up with the loved ones who have passed on. 

Send us a picture of your pet to , and we will hand sketch the image of your pet onto a 12 x 12" stretched canvas for you before the class! Please send us a good headshot picture of your pet. Any full-body pictures will be cropped for you. Background elements in your original photo will be eliminated altogether. We will have a 4x6 picture of your pet for you to paint from. During the class, we will guide you through creating a colorful painted portrait of your pet!

THIS CLASS AND PAYMENT ARE FOR ONLY ONE PET. If you'd like a second pet, we can create a "Home Painting Kit" for you to work on at another time! Just contact Kim at .
